This Week’s Quotation:
When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see them, you will see yourself. As you treat them, you will treat yourself. As you think of them, you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in others you will find yourself or lose yourself.

Holy Encounters
I have come to test appreciate that all relationships are holy encounters. That is, my relationship to myself, to the environment, animals, other people, and even to life itself is a holy encounter.
Viewing all relationships as holy encounters connects everything through the heart. Science demonstrates that the heart is the most powerful electromagnetic energy source in the human body. The heart's electrical field is 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain. Even more astounding, its electromagnetic energy field is 5000 times greater than is created by the brain!
In other words, our heart-field is a superpower! Since our thoughts and emotions influence our heart's magnetic field, imagine how our relationships would evolve if we were astute to what thoughts and emotions were feeding that field. What a lovely practice to consciously fill that field with quality energy like goodwill, kindness, peace, gratitude, and compassion.
It's helpful to remember that all humans have similar needs. That is, we are all nourished by being seen and accepted without judgment. It supports our well-being to feel we belong and are connected. All loving expressions create a high-quality connecting bridge. And the recognition that we all share the same fundamental needs reminds us to give what we most desire to receive.
We do not walk apart from each other, and none of us walks apart from our Creator. No matter what we or others may have done—no matter the rights or wrongs we may have recorded about ourselves or others—it is now time to remember the truth: We are all connected as individuated sparks of our Creator. I am Holy. You are Holy. Life is Holy. In that awareness, our encounters reflect that glorious truth and result in heart and soul-full connections.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

Very beautifully written, Terri. How true it is that every encounter with another is a holy encounter. And Oneness is the reality. In engaging with you or with anyone I am actually engaging with a part of myself. So why would I ever mistreat, ignore or in any way diminish another? Love and blessing, energized by the heart, is the only way to go.
Thanks Terri for the words that ring so true! That’s the reality of our Being! What a simple challenge for us that holds such profound effects! We try to make things so complicated when life says my yoke is easy and my burden is Light!
This is so amazingly beautiful – it reminds me that there isn’t any relationship or encounter that isn’t a Holy Encounter. Some are easier to realize than others I must admit – but when we remember that All Encounters are Holy Encounters – it changes our perspective and it changes our day. Thank you so much Terri…….
