This Week's Quotation:
And Jesus said unto them… And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins—and the wine is destroyed, and so are the skins. New wine is for fresh wineskins.
~ Mark 2:22 (ESV)
Shedding the Old
Jesus was using an allegory here to illustrate why he did not follow the religion of the Pharisees. Old wineskins can’t withstand having new wine poured into them, just as Jesus and his disciples could not maintain attunement if they conformed to Pharisees’ rules.
As another example, a snake must shed its skin as its body grows. In the same respect, our beautiful planet and all of us who make our home here are shedding outmoded realities to allow new growth as Gaia shifts into new vibrational realities. Our “old skin” is not equipped to deal with the influx of new cosmic energies flooding our planet, necessitating new paradigms and perspectives that evolve our consciousness.
We are undergoing what is likely the greatest transformation in the history of civilization—one that will alter humanity as a species. It’s an honor for us to participate actively in this transformation. And life is giving us a plethora of opportunities to do so!
We make a beneficial difference just by being attentive to the quality of our personal energy field. The bugaboo here is that the mental and emotional framework formulated in our first six years of life contained a lot of myths and misinformation. Yet those pre-K beliefs continue to sculpt our lives if we are not paying attention. We must identify where beliefs in lack, limitation, and separation continue to mold our experiences and then consciously reprogram them.
I enjoy creating new mindsets that lay down new neural pathways in my brain. For example, I enjoy relating to Gaia as my quantum playground. It’s exhilarating to know that a miracle mindset aligns with what’s real and true. One of the new practices I’ve adopted is viewing whatever enters my field as wholly innocent, wholly pure, and wholly holy.
The bottom line is that it’s a tender time. We are all in this unified field of consciousness that includes all the shades of our world and some days it’s a lot tougher than others to stand true to our integrity. It’s important to be nonjudging, kind, and compassionate, not only with others but with ourselves. The treasures always come from the heart. Whenever we come from a place of love, be it toward ourselves or others, we bless our world and positively influence all that is, like kisses from heaven.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Bring forth the new! Go Terri! Love, Tom
“Behold, I make all things new,” wrote the author of Revelation. Notice, he didn’t say “all new things.” When we’re willing to shed the old skins of mindsets, reactions and perspectives and see and handle everything as if we’re doing it for the very first time, what a blast life can be!
Thanks, Terri. As a teacher of Clinical Hypnotherapy I understand clearly the ‘programming’ of the first 6-8 years as well as how trauma at any age can ‘smash the glass’ of our reality. Just like info on a hard drive it is there until it is updated, deleted or replaced. There are various ways to do that and so important.
How beautiful!!! Thank you so much!!!
I love this thought – It’s exhilarating to know that a miracle mindset aligns with what’s real and true. The words real and true mean so much!!!
