This Week's Quotation:
I place the future in the hands of God. Accept today’s idea, and you have passed all anxiety, all pits of hell, all blackness of depression, thoughts of sin, and devastation brought about by guilt. Accept today’s idea, and you have released the world from all imprisonment by loosening the heavy chains that locked the door to freedom on it. Release the future. For the past is gone, and what is present, freed from its bequest of grief and misery, pain and loss, becomes the instant in which time escapes the bondage of illusions.
~ A Course in Miracles, Lesson 194
Rest in God
There is a place of refuge inside us that is capable of responding with loving dignity to whatever circumstances we find ourselves in. It’s the spark of God within. And when we surrender and place the past, present, and future in the hands of Divine Intelligence, we rest there. We rest in God.
While knowing that we have a deep transcendent place of refuge inside ourselves doesn’t dissolve the chaos, pain, and suffering of human life, it is a place that takes us beyond the limitations of our humanity.
While we rest in God, we overcome every seeming obstacle to God’s peace and love. When we place our lives in the hands of God, we lay down all thoughts of judgment and danger. We choose truth. We decide on heaven.
Do you feel the love of God within you now? Allow all obstacles to be removed. The God within will do its part. Just welcome God’s arrival and rest there. As you rest, the love of God shines within you and extends around the world from your heart.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

THANK YOU, TERRI. I appreciate your term “place of refuge.” Here in Hawaii among the original habitants there were places of refuge where a criminal on the run or person fearing the King’s wrath could go to be cleansed by a priest – also know as “places of refuge.” It is great to hear from you that we can be our own such places administering the love and self-forgiveness and peace both we and the world need. Love, Tom
Thank you! Beautiful image of the light coming through each of us—and radiating out to all around the globe!
Hi Terri – beautiful, thank you – I think the ONLY place to rest is with the knowledge of the God within All, and that we are all One – we probably get into trouble when we ‘overthink’ it all…much love…….
I’m reminded that we’re not looking to achieve freedom from limitations or challenging circumstances, but freedom in the midst of whatever comes to us as we abide in the present moment of ever-streaming Love.
