This Week's Quotation:
Every one of us already has the seed of mindfulness. The practice is to cultivate it. Yesterday is already gone. Tomorrow is not yet here. Today is the only day available to us; it is the most important day of our lives. Let’s be mindful of that.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Empowered Consciousness
I’m certain you’ve discovered how empowering it is to be present to whatever is before you. Consciousness is the creative life force here on earth. We are always interacting with the invisible field. That’s why it’s so important to cultivate and nurture the seed of mindfulness.
There is a lot of overcoming of past habits and human conditioning we have to do to create more of Heaven here on Earth. No question, mindfulness serves us very well in living a purpose-driven, conscious life.
We are all in this together to support each other in this process. It requires that we consciously identify what is reinforcing less evolved levels of our consciousness so we can grow beyond them. Why? Because that mediocre self will keep showing up unless we activate a level of will that moves beyond our familiar feelings and habits. And that takes a very determined heart.
It’s always good to ask ourselves questions. What lowers our energy and has us paying more attention to the outer world than the inner world? What are the thoughts that keep us stuck? (i.e. I can’t meditate. I can’t heal. I can’t handle this…)
The key is to dive deep into the realm of our emotions and the darkest corners of our mind without losing sight of the light. I’ve learned that it helps if I make it fun. Every day purposefully engage whatever helps you to stay awake, stirs your creative imagination, and brings on smiles. Be willing to be defined by newly empowered visions of what happy, healthy, and thriving mean to you.
Yes, there’s a lot of turmoil and chaos in our world now. Yet there are also marvelous possibilities to engage. Look for them. Immerse yourself in what inspires and supports your ability to stay tapped in and attuned to the invisible field where there truly is no order of difficulty.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

So critically important and so easy to forget…..
You have empowered my consciousness with your words, Terri. How important to be who I truly am, rather than some Halloween counterfeit of myself!
