This Week’s Quotation:
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
~ Philippians 4:4-7
Breakdown to Breakthrough
Today’s quote from scripture reminds me that the answer to every question and the solution to every problem is found while in attunement with Source. It appears that we are all traversing some very rocky territory. That leads me to increase my time in prayer with God. I express gratitude that I am able to perceive that all challenges have the potential to bring forth all that I was created to become. And I ask for guidance on how to make more conscious use of all that I was created to be, so as to allow more love, grace and compassion to move through me.
It feels to me that 2021 heralds an important pivot point for humanity—a time when allowing what can no longer be sustained to break down will bring huge breakthroughs. It feels that through my actions and response to whatever circumstances I find myself in, I am taking a stand concerning what version of reality I choose. Am I taking a fear-based stand or a love-based stand? Is where I stand founded in a belief in separation or in unity? It feels very important to me that I respond from the faith that reality is already the way I prefer. Maybe you are having a similar experience.
Scott Turow, in his book Ordinary Heroes, asked, Who are we but the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, and believe? Are we steeped in stories that highlight the negative? Am I holding onto beliefs that have outgrown their usefulness or worse, have been proven to be false but through my belief in them, continue to perpetuate experiences that I don't enjoy?
One of the most powerful spiritual practices I use is to bring my heart and mind into coherence first thing in the morning, throughout the day when I feel stress building up and the last thing before I go to sleep at night. I learned how to create this coherence from the HeartMath Institute. In 1994 I learned that scientists had discovered that the human heart has 40,000 brain cells that learn independently from the brain in our head; and to overcome emotional trauma, one must address the neurons in the heart and establish a coherent connection between the heart and mind. That knowledge has led to many profound breakthroughs for me.
When I feel as if the earth is rocking beneath my feet and I have reached that point that enough is enough, I recognize that it's a sign that I am ready to shed some very ancient, outgrown patterns and beliefs and establish an even deeper attunement with my Creator. We must all find and use the tools that best support our unique spiritual growth and evolution. What spiritual tools work best for you to bring your body, mind and emotions into attunement with Source, so that you are radiating your uniquely beautiful light in the world? I'm always eager to hear those stories!
It is said that as the dawn draws nearer, the night becomes darker. Yet, to reach the dawn, the dark night has to be passed through. We're up for this! Let’s support each other to contribute our uniquely brilliant light and be alert and disciplined in bringing forth that version of our humanity that feels really good to express. Remember, we are all in this together, bringing heaven to earth. In Ram Dass’s words: We are all just walking each other home.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

Thank you so much. Breaking through old patterns and embracing the evolutionary thrust of creation can be very unsettling at many levels. What we have done day after day after day has been forced to change. Now we are free to create a new tomorrow.
Terri – this is beautiful and offers a fulfilling view of how we can be what we were always meant to be. Love and blessings to All, everywhere.
