This Week's Quotation:
When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see him [her], you will see yourself. As you treat him [her], you will treat yourself. As you think of him [her], you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him [her], you will find yourself or lose yourself.
~ A Course in Miracles, Chapter 8
Holy Encounters
What a beautiful reminder that every encounter we have in life—no matter how brief—is a sacred opportunity to bless others by reminding them of the uniquely creative being they truly are. We can perceive others beyond their politics, cultural programming, and fears. We can bring the gift of goodwill instead of judgment, peace instead of stress, and love instead of fear.
We are creative facets of the One Great Spirit, and how we perceive anything informs the structure of what’s being viewed. As we perceive with love, we know and see in truth—we reclaim others in the Love that is their True Self.
Every encounter is holy in the name of Love. Holy encounters don’t depend on time. The blessing is transmitted in the instant of a knowing smile! Every breath offers the opportunity for a holy encounter with our Self.
What if the reason behind every encounter is to view all encounters as being sent to you and you to them, so that this true seeing can be gifted? Let’s engage the delights of approaching every encounter as a holy opportunity that invokes reclaiming the True Self.
The challenges humanity confronts are opportunities to evolve in a holy relationship with all that is. We are reclaiming the self that has forgotten it is a creative expression of God. As we bring heaven to our encounters, we invite others to dance with us, weaving our collective pulse of spirit with the highest realms of Love.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

Thank you, One Great Spirit. Thank you A Course in Miracles. Thank you, Terri! Love, Tom
Thanks so much Terri. This is truly the guts of practical spirituality. Working as I do in pain medicine, this is vital for me as I bring my skills to assist a person to reclaim their quality of life. For so many, the pain journey has been dogged with frustration & judgment, so my appreciation for the sacredness of our encounters is a large part of the healing process. Thanks for so succinctly summarising this vital life principle. Warm regards. Andrew
How true it is that “every encounter is holy in the name of Love.” Oneness is the reality. I remind myself of this when anyone comes to the counter of mailroom where I work: an angel has approached and my interaction with this person will be holy.
So beautiful Terri – Love and Light to All…..
May we all be danced to the ends of Love … which has no end.
