This Week’s Quotation:
During Lent, let us find concrete ways to overcome our indifference. Lent comes providentially to awaken us, to shake us from our lethargy.
~ Pope Francis
Lenten Blessings
I write this on Ash Wednesday, a day that Christians recognize as the first day of Lent. The Lenten Season lasts 40 days (excluding Sundays) from Ash Wednesday, leading up to Easter Sunday. During the Lenten Season, the focus is to give up something to commemorate the sacrifices that Jesus made.
I view Lent as the time to sacrifice anything that keeps me imprisoned by the illusion of separation. This Lent, I’m prepared to sacrifice all doubt, guilt, judgment, anger, and unforgiveness on the altar of Truth, so that my heart is open to the Love that knows no separation.
This is a time we are all being healed of the separation disorder we inherited—that deeply ingrained perception that we are separate from the Source of our being and each other. How might we experience life on planet Earth if each of us were to sacrifice anything that interferes with our being attuned with and tapped into the quantum field of Love?
Just as the light of the sun nurtures life on this planet, so does shining our light welcome others to shine theirs too. Then, together, we are shining that frequency of healing, liberating light. Together, attuned to our Source and living from our true state of Being, we are radiating that light that dissolves the illusion of a world of separation, suffering and pain.
Sounds like heaven to me!
Will you join me in making a decision for heaven today?
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

So good to celebrate Lent with you, Terri, in a way that is meaningful to me.
Many thanks, Terri. It is great to see Lent in the light of what you see from a higher perspective … instead of giving up tea or coffee or beer or sweets, I give up all that might lead to the perception of separation. Well said and I am with you. Love, Tom C.
I grew up in a very easy going Protestant faith and did not hear the term lent until my teens when I had some connection with the Catholic church. The true meaning of the premise fascinated me. It is good to review. The matter of consciously letting go of a thought or a feeling that does not serve my circumstance in any moment is where I have come to in considering your words. This for me takes alertness and deliberateness in being tuned in to Source as you say, and letting that reality flood my capacities of mind and heart, then on out into my world. I so appreciate you exploring and sharing the Truth of this area as we ever more fully bring that light from Source into our worlds.
My the Windows of our Hearts be Open always – we are in a Time of Awakening – and I understand we may have chosen to be here at this Time. Lets Enfold each other in each and every moment. Thank you and Blessings…..
During Lent I will spend some time every day reading in THE BOOK OF GRACE – A Cosmic View of the Bible, by Grace Van Duzen. And give thanks for this remarkable woman who became my dearest friend at Sunrise Ranch.
Beautiful alignment.
