This Week’s Quotation:
Ye are the light of the world.
~ Matthew 5:14
Lighting up the World
I have found that using this quote from Matthew as a mantra serves me well. I use it anytime I get into a funk. It snaps me out of the forgetting. It brings an instant shift in my perspective. Ah, yes! For a moment, I forgot. Now I remember. I am the light of the world! And so are you.
This new year, let’s embrace every occasion to live more fully from our soul, firmly rooted in the God Field. I’ve come to see how every moment is a defining moment to let life know who I am. I notice how my thoughts and stories will either brighten or dim my light. Better yet, I experience that difference in voltage very tangibly in my human body! And when my light dims, it doesn't feel good at all.
These experiences motivate me to do energetic house cleaning, clearing away the build-up of doom and gloom and habits of judgment and separation that dim my light. When I'm shining brightly, I have the perspective of heaven. Such a lovely difference that makes.
This new year, will you join me in welcoming emancipation from the mental conditioning that dims your light? Let’s all engage the stories that light us up and know that in doing so, we are lighting up the world together. What could be more fulfilling than that?
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

Dear Terrie, This is such a beautiful and powerful message. And how simple to ask oneself in any moment “Am I bringing the light of Life into my world?” You certainly are and I am so thankful!
Beautiful practice, Terri. I am the light of the world.
Yes, how absolutely crucial it is for me to shine my light and to join with others in shining their light in this new year. Light is the symbol of truth, and as we bring the truth of love in our living it helps to clear away the darkness of ignorance that seems to be increasingly enveloping large pockets of human consciousness, injecting division and even conflict into the body of humanity.
We have the choice and opportunity to be the light of the world, each moment. We do this, knowing this brings joy and peace, living fully, bringing this into our worlds. Thank you, Terri, for your nourishing presence.
Indeed we are the light of the world and I welcome my emancipation!
