This Week's Quotation:
When the water is turbulent, remind yourself & others on your boat to breathe. Wherever you go in the midst of movement and activity, carry your stillness within you. Then, the chaotic movement around you will never overshadow your access to the reservoir of creativity, the field of pure potentiality.
~ Deepak Chopra
Pure Potentiality
Deepak offers great advice about remembering to breathe. I notice that my body tenses up and restricts the flow of my breath when it detects turbulence. Conscious deep breathing restores our connection to the unified field of pure potentiality. It sends the message to the body that all is well. Better yet, include a smile, as that fuels our inner fire.
We all desire to maintain high vibrational resonance. Yet, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by life’s current challenges. It’s helpful to remember the butterfly gets its wings due to the trials the caterpillar endures.
Conscious breathing is a practice we can freely access anywhere at any time to support remaining tapped into and turned on by the field of pure potentiality. We all benefit from practices that support our remembering that everything showing up in our lives is there to evolve us—to support the integration of what we hold as separate from us. It is that integration that leads to living from our totality, lit up by Love.
When we have the insight, That was not my finest moment; the empowering next thought can be, So how might I turn it into one? How might I bring my divine Light to this experience? That awareness empowers us to choose more wisely next time and break cycles we don’t desire to repeat. We have the ability to read between the lines and see the truth we couldn’t see before. We see how the Light always works for the benefit of the whole. We understand that while events can’t be rewritten, perceptions of those events can be.
How we respond to life’s challenges is all we have control over. The ultimate practice is using whatever circumstances we find ourselves in to see the love and bring the love. We can celebrate that we know we are an eternal spirit, gifted with a human life through which the loving Source expresses itself. And so is everyone else.
By fostering that awareness, we remain in the creative field of pure potential where no order of difficulty exists. As we practice cherishing what is without blame or condemning flaws, our hearts remain open. And when the water is turbulent, we remind ourselves and others to breathe.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

What a well timed reminder of the power of the breath. This is really helpful Terry because the inner resources that are innately part of our being are often the ones we overlook in times of crisis. We tend to go outward for help. Thank you for reminding us to go inward.
Thanks, Terri and Deepak. Yes, we can see the love and be the love no matter the circumstance. It may be a challenge but it is also an honor to represent love in the fact of chaos and human downturn in the world. Love always, tom
Thanks for reminding us, Terri, that we do have control over how we respond to life’s challenges. We can respond as a victim, blaming others or God for the challenges, or we can respond as the Creator that we innately are and use the challenges to bring more Love into the world. And this process can be beautifully initiated just by taking a deep breath.
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning – and Breathing is a major factor in ‘attitude’ – thank you Terri
Thank you,Terri! Breathing is the timely reminder of being grounded in each moment. Breath connects implicitly with being and is the saving grace in all situations knowing that there is no situation too big to breathe into and to know I am here for this.
