This Week's Quotation:
Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought: you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself. Whatever mistakes you made, the truth about you is unchanged. Creation is eternal and unalterable. Your innocence is guaranteed by God. You are and will forever be exactly as you were created. Light and joy and peace abide in you because God put them there. Practice experiencing the unity of your one Self. Practice appreciating its Holiness and the love from which it was created. And if you should be tempted to become angry with yourself or someone else, silently say: Light and joy and peace abide in you. Your innocence is guaranteed by God.
A Course in Miracles, Lesson 93
Revolutionary Love
Innocence is a concept that stirs up my monkey mind. For this reason, I’ve learned it’s best to process it with my heart to avoid the barrage of objections and exceptions my mind will put up due to its conditioned habits of judgment and separation. Allowing oneself to see the innocence in what the majority of us would judge as horrific behavior requires the perspective of heaven. And revolutionary love.
And that level of radical love is what life is inviting us to embody now. We are a composite of a being that dies and a being that does not. The majority of humanity remains completely identified with the mortal body. That’s created a great imbalance in our world. While our eternal self is free of attachment and judgment, our impermanent human self is deeply conditioned to right and wrong and reward and punishment and a separate self that must compete to have its needs met in the world.
That’s the stuff humanity is purging now. Don’t take any of it personally. Whatever is going on is not about good or bad or right and wrong. It’s about seeing the innocence. It’s about understanding how distorted love becomes when the malignant thought of separation has infected human consciousness.
I often ask myself: Can I accept and allow that life has a terrible beauty? My mind wants to allow only the beauty without the terrible. So, can I allow that horrible things occur in this world without judging or condemning them? Can I be in the space of allowing without shutting down or digging a hole to bury my head in? Maintaining allowance is no easy task.
Yet, I am aware that’s the work now. Humanity is on a journey of re-membering—restoring the union of body, soul, and spirit. That requires purging all that resides in the paradigm of separation. It’s a pilgrimage that requires a revolutionary love that remembers innocence has no exceptions.
We tend to forget that much of what occurs in the universe is not within our control. For example, Earth spins on its axis at 1000 miles per hour, yet we don’t feel it! As so it is that while we might not understand how horrors could possibly serve the highest good of all, we accept that is God’s business. Our task is to keep the faith and remain in Attunement so we know when, where, and how we can be of service to the divine curriculum.
Yes, it's possible we will have to endure a full range of seemingly unendurable emotions as the death of that which no longer serves our evolution takes place. Still, we need to fully honor and allow whatever moves through us without identifying with or separating from it. We are invited to be a loving and compassionate death doula for what is purging from the collective human consciousness and a midwife for the birthing of divine remembrance.
In those moments when we waver, remember: innocence, light, joy, and peace abide in you and all that exists because our Creator put them there. In that remembering, we are gifted with the faith to trust that love is even where it appears not to be.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

YEs. Light and joy and peace abide in you – and me. Thank you, Terri. Love, Tom
I have to admit – still working on this one – Don’t take any of it personally. I have to remember to take notice of my feelings, and let it all fall away – let it go – be in Love.
Such beautiful words, Terri. Thank you so much 💕
It will indeed take some “revolutionary love” to somehow accept that in the case of Russia’s horrific invasion of Ukraine there is “love is even where it appears not to be.” I must admit that it is too much for me to believe that love is somehow present in the torture and slaughter of so many innocent civilians, including lots of women and children. I’m sorry, but the Highest Love within me requires me to condemn this “abomination of desolation” on the surface of our beloved Earth.
What a beautiful insight into the Reality of our true self and our responsibility in this creative process! Judge not and let love radiate!!
