This Week's Quotation:
An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.
~ Martin Luther King
Spiritual Community
I bet you know the liberation experienced when the storyline of the centric space of “I” is dropped, and you are open to a state that transcends the story of separation. One feels more anchored in the unwavering, visceral experience of being at home—in our world, in our life, and in our relationship to all that is.
It’s well known that individuals evolve at the rate of the tribe they are plugged into. Therefore, a spiritual community has the immense opportunity to be a consciousness catalyst for those participating in the community and those they serve.
Spiritual groups are also useful for leading us into the brother and sisterhood of humanity birthed from the father and motherhood of God. A beneficial spiritual group provides a place for service and the opportunity for transformation. It invites us to a deepening knowledge and experience of who and what we are.
As we give to and are nourished by the community, a transformation of energies and a reciprocity honoring the One Essence is invited to take place. A sanctuary is created. A vortex of loving energy is established that sets up a magnetic force field that invites others into the community.
When the energetic focus of the community is love, openness, and service, the community becomes a guiding light for all those who come in contact with it. And just like taking the light from one candle and lighting many other candles, that light can be carried to any part of the world where it can grow in harmony with the original vortex. As carriers of that light interact with the larger world, the vortex of love and unity is extended exponentially all over the world.
When we merge the inner and outer consciously within our own consciousness, the little “I” and the great “I AM” merge in an alchemical marriage. As I’m sure you’ve experienced, there’s just nothing sweeter than that!
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.

How true, Terri! The opportunities in spiritual community are boundless.
My association with the spiritual community of Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, CO, for the last fifty-two years has brought untold blessings into my life and the world I center.
We are One – always and forever….
And there is, truly, nothing sweeter than a Community unified in the unique expression of love into the world of humanity.
Love this reminder of our potential in the world.
It’s a matter of identification with Spirit, wherever we happen to be.
Thank you, Terri!
