This Week's Quotation:
Consider the flowers of a garden. Though differing in kind, color, form, and shape, yet, inasmuch as they are refreshed by the waters of one spring, revived by the breath of one wind, invigorated by the rays of one sun, this diversity increaseth their charm, and addeth unto their beauty. How unpleasing to the eye if all the flowers and plants, the leaves and blossoms, the fruits, the branches, and the trees of that garden were all of the same shape and color!
~ Baháʼu'lláh - Founder of the Baha'i Faith
The Blessing of Diversity
Certainly, we see diversity in the flowers of a garden, as Baháʼu'lláh so beautifully describes. As it applies to us, all humans are equally valued and needed, just as each flower is. We each contribute our individual uniqueness, dancing together in time and space in a world of possibility. And all facets of life are enhanced by this diversity.
Life's contrast and diversity support our growth and evolution. It's quite delightful that life doesn't fit into one genre. Life is comedy, tragedy, mystery, horror, and a love story packaged into one journey.
Yes, so much in this world can make us bleed. The great challenge is that whatever comes our way, we can't lose our love. We can’t forget that we are an individuated spark of God having a human adventure. Our life here is temporary. We are eternity.
Do you feel it too? The possibility for awakening to our true nature and living from the totality of our multidimensional self has arrived. Once and for all, let’s toss out the old paradigms of lack, limitation, and separation because, really, what could possibly be more fun than celebrating life's exquisite diversity?
It takes my breath away how big and brilliant it all is. When we live from the perspective of heaven, gratitude for this human adventure radiates from us. I thank life every day that diversity is a distinguishing characteristic of our world.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
