Full Charge Accountant​

The person in this position provides overall financial stewardship and leadership, including financial management, budget coordination, financial reporting and analysis for the development and monitoring of effective financial strategies.

WORK AVAILABILITY: Part time, 25-29 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

SALARY RANGE: $26 to $29 per hour, depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide financial and tax reporting
  • Coordinate the annual budget process
  • Secure and maintain appropriate financing
  • Steward the maintenance of appropriate working capital
  • Summarize and analyze data for optimum financial decision-making
  • Represent financial interests of Emissaries of Divine Light with various stakeholders, and banking, governmental and regulatory agencies
  • Provide payroll processing support to HR and employee classification oversight
  • Establish and monitor appropriate internal control procedures
  • Perform a monthly review of the general ledger 
  • Monitor cash position vs. plan. Communicate and execute appropriate intervention as needed
  • Review support for disbursements; code and sign checks while monitoring cash flow/forecasting needs
  • Oversee various accounting projects or support for sister communities as the need arises
  • Review the monthly donations report 
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed

Events Director

SUMMARY: The Events Director supports and manages guest services, events, home keeping, and dining room. This person should have a detailed understanding of the full Microsoft Office suite, be able to proactively solve problems and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment.

SALARY RANGE: $70K – $75K DOE

WORK AVAILABILITY: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, exact hours negotiable. 24/7 availability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•  Contribute to the vision for the development of the programs and property of Sunrise Ranch by participating on the Sunrise Ranch Development Advisory Team.
•  Create a year-round calendar of events that engages people in an experience of renewal, learning, and transformation.
•  Create a beautiful welcoming atmosphere for staff, participants, visitors, and residents.
•  Optimize the participant’s experience of Sunrise Ranch, creating loyal clients.
•  Support event leaders to offer the optimal experience to their participants.
•  Develop strong relationships between event leaders and Sunrise Ranch, making us a desirable context for their work.
•  Effectively oversee the hosting of events from start to finish, including external event leader’s events, events developed by Emissaries of Divine Light, and other events developed by Sunrise Ranch.

Kitchen Steward

The person in this position will provide support in the Kitchen and/or Dining Room, ensuring a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment to serve our many guests. 

JOB TITLE: Kitchen Steward

SUMMARY: Provides support in the Kitchen and/or Dining Room of Sunrise Ranch.

WORK AVAILABILITY: Full time up to 40 hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

  •  Serve with the intention of creating and maintaining a safe and clean environment to best serve the company mission and provide a comfortable and welcoming dining experience.

  •  Ensure cleanliness, operational organization and maintenance of Kitchen machinery, and a safe workspace.

  •  Clean, sanitize, restock, and organize Kitchen/Dining Room.

  •  Assist in light food preparation as directed by Manager or Chef on duty.

  •  Assist in serving food and beverages to the residents in the Dining Room.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Previous commercial kitchen experience required.

  •  Ability to thrive in a constantly changing work environment.

  •  Work under pressure.

  •  Reliability—show up on time and be flexible on days/hours worked.

  •  Prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.

Seasonal Support

As a retreat and conference center, Sunrise Ranch needs support in a variety of departments on a seasonal basis.

SUMMARY: Provides support in various areas of Sunrise Ranch, including seasonal projects.

WORK AVAILABILITY: Up to 29 hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

COMPENSATION: $14.42 – $15.50 per hour

Community Volunteers

There is no hourly work commitment, just what you are willing to offer. The work will be in support of community operations at Sunrise Ranch. Breakfast Cook/Day Prep

The person in this position assists in the daily operation of Sunrise Ranch Kitchen on days when breakfast is served and preparation for lunch as necessary. Sunrise Ranch is an event center and this individual will be scheduled to support the groups as needs arise.

JOB TITLE: Breakfast Cook/Day Prep

WORK AVAILABILITY: 18-24 hours per week; flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays. Hours of work are normally 5:30 to 11:30 a.m.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Take control of the breakfast service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable breakfast.

  •  Cook and manage breakfast service and assist with lunch service.

  •  Set up for breakfast and clean the Kitchen after breakfast.

  •  Adhere to health and safety policies and regulations. Ensure kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times.

  •  Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.

  •  Ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.

  •  Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the correct recipe and in the correct quantity.

  •  Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Executive Chef.

  •  Ensure all staff under your control are treated fairly and with courtesy.

  •  Strive for high levels of guest satisfaction and food quality while keeping operation costs and food costs in mind.

  •  Collect feedback from guests during the breakfast session and report any complaints or issues to the Executive Chef.

  •  Monitor and ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.

  •  Ensure personal grooming (cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene) and appearance standards are met.

Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist interfaces with management and employees providing HR consultation and administration on a variety of subjects. In addition, the HR Generalist is responsible for Payroll Preparation and Administration.

WORK AVAILABILITY: 40 hours per week

SALARY RANGE: $35K – $40K DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains employee/payroll records, including employee compensation, bonuses, vacation pay, deductions, direct deposits, payroll cards, tax-withholding data, garnishments, pre-tax Health Savings Account deposits, and accruals.
  • Coordinates transactional activities for new hires, staff adjustments, and separations.
  • Assists in the maintenance, reconciliation, and auditing of records in APS.
  • Gathers necessary information for manual checks and delivers to Accounting, processes separation calculations.

  • Be proactive in creating solutions for potential issues that may arise within the department.
  • Assist in overseeing events from start to finish, including internal EDL events.

Homekeeping tasks may include:

  • Set up and tear down Meeting Rooms for internal and external events, according to the event requirements.
  • Perform essential laundry tasks for Accommodations Building, providing fresh towels and bedsheets for all guest rooms.
  • Clean and check all appliances in rooms, corridors, meeting rooms, stairways, and guest rooms.

Dining Room tasks may include:

Front Desk Lead

The person in the Front Desk Lead position holds responsibility for all the Front Desk functions, ensuring a positive experience for all guests, visitors, and the Sunrise Ranch community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Set the atmosphere to support community members, visitors, incoming guests, and retreat leaders.
  • Handle customer service requests and issues in a busy environment.
  • Coordinate activities and tasks for the Front Desk and Front Desk Support staff to ensure all details are executed on time.
  • Train new Front Desk staff as needed.
  • Buy/order items for sale at the Front Desk.
  • Produce various reports, records, and related documents in hospitality software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Direct calls, handle email and other requests for information and follow up as required.
  • Process reservations, payments, or refunds for guests and visitors in hospitality software.
  • Check in guests and visitors.

This position requires up to 40 hours a week, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

SALARY RANGE: $15.50 – $17.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Events Logistics Coordinator

The Events Logistics Coordinator oversees all details for an event after the signed contract is received and coordinates with the event contact person to get their event specifics. This includes setting up the event registration, event schedules, information needed by the Kitchen, arrival times, A/V consultation times, Welcome Talk time, and Debrief time.

This person also coordinates with the Events Manager, A/V Support, Front Desk, Rooming, and Room Steward Lead for each event.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Manage all logistical details for outside events and internal programs.
  • Request, gather, and organize all information for each event, including equipment requests, room layout, event schedule, Attunement, staff arrival times, A/V consultation, Welcome Talk, and any other needed detail.
  • Keep up with and respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Guest Services Manager, A/V Support, Kitchen Manager and Room Steward Lead to ensure events flow smoothly.

IT Systems Lead

The person in this position is the lead/focus for the system administration and support groups. As such, this staff member acts as the senior mentor and advisor for system maintenance and configuration and recommends new purchases.

This position requires up to 40 hours a week, mostly weekdays and as needed.

Essential job functions include:

  • Performing system hardware setup and configuration and manages standard processes
  • Maintaining, optimizing and managing operating system software on all devices—Windows OS: XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10; Apple OS X; Android; and iOS
  • Maintaining, optimizing and managing the network system, including routers, switches, hubs, firewalls, VOIP switches, VDS switches, CAT5 and fiber cables
  • Maintaining and optimizing phone and telecom systems, including PBX and VDSL modems
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting workstations, printers, scanners, monitors and television drops, etc.
  • Diagnosing and resolving computer virus-related issues
  • Training IT support staff and end users when necessary
  • Communicating with vendors for product research and support
  • Purchasing system and computer hardware and software as allowed by budgeting constraints
  • Performing other essential duties as assigned.

Seasonal Ranch Support​

The person in this position assists in the daily operation of Sunrise Ranch ranching operations. Work up to 29 hours a week, which may include weekends and holidays.

  • Work with animals in our operation to include daily care: feeding, watering, providing minerals and practicing stress-free handling.
  • Move cattle, sheep and chickens in accordance with holistic management practices.
  • Set up paddocks with portable electric fencing.
  • Assist with sorting animals to tag, castrate, vaccinate and the like.
  • Collect and wash eggs daily.
  • Work on Farm or Ranch structures, such as buildings, fences (electric single-line, electric portable and barbed-wire) and roads, repairing and maintaining as needed.
